Background & Family Life
As a husband to his beloved wife Roberta and a resident of Fairview, Texas, Doug knows the true value of family. They have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren. When Doug is not dedicating his time to his clients, you can find him cooking, hunting, and boating, but nothing compares to the moments he spends with his family. For Doug, the most important things in his life are his spiritual life, family, and clients.
Business Philosophy
As a Senior Advisor at RPOA since 2009, Doug says he carries a profound sense of personal responsibility. His business philosophy is rooted in his commitment to providing his clients with superior service and sound advice. He deeply values the long-term relationships he cultivates with his clients, as he understands the importance of trust and reliability in financial matters.
Doug’s primary goal for every client is that their money lasts longer than they do. After all, we are here not to make you rich but to help prevent you from becoming poor. Doug prides himself in keeping up to date on current economic and market situations so he may advise his clients. His main goal is to help protect his clients from Bear Markets because he believes that is one of the biggest risks that face them. His desire is to help as many people as possible plan for and enjoy a stress-free retirement, free from the burden of financial worry.
For Doug, being a Retirement Planner is not solely about managing money; it’s about becoming a trusted confidant and support system for his clients. Doug understands that life often throws unexpected challenges, including the loss of a spouse. He empathetically guides his clients through such difficult times, providing not just financial guidance but also emotional support. The experience of losing a loved one may seem overwhelming, but Doug strives to make it as seamless as possible as he helps his clients navigate the complexities compassion.
Doug says he feels a profound sense of responsibility to extend his services to as many people as possible. When reflecting on his many years as a retirement planner, he reflects on numerous cases where he feels families were in a far better financial position due to his guidance than they would have been without it. This mindset strengthens his commitment to his mission – to help others plan for their futures and have a plan to help protect what they’ve built so they can enjoy the fruits of their labor during retirement.
For Doug, his mission goes beyond numbers and spreadsheets. He believes it is about creating lasting relationships and providing holistic support. His goal is for each client’s retirement journey to be filled with happiness, fulfillment, and peace of mind.
