Background & Family Life
Leo Peters grew up in Houston but now calls Dallas home. He is a proud father of three children, including his oldest daughter, a college student at University of Houston and leukemia survivor, and boy-girl twins in high school. After a fateful meeting, Leo and his wife Emily, whom he married in 2019, are a happy blended family. Emily, a farm girl at heart with deep Texas roots, has two sons —one in financial services and the other at Trinity University. The family also includes two corgis who keep them entertained.
Faith and family are central to Leo’s life. As caregivers not only to their children but also to aging parents, Leo and Emily share a deep commitment to giving back and supporting one another. Time at Emily’s family farm and trips to Leo’s family property in the Texas Hill Country are a treat when they are not busy with children visits and responsibilities. Leo and Emily also enjoy vacationing to Florida and Colorado, where they embrace both the mountains and the beach.
Business Philosophy
Leo’s business philosophy is rooted in a commitment to doing the right things, not just doing things right. Since entering the financial industry in 1995, Leo has traveled across the country and experienced a wide range of roles—from mutual funds and annuities to alternative investments. These experiences taught him that the most fulfilling part of his work is focusing on people rather than products. He approaches every client with the “big rock, little rock” analogy, prioritizing what matters most for a family’s well-being over less critical concerns.
Inspired by his oldest daughter’s battle with leukemia, Leo has been deeply involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Bank. He became a committed blood donor, even being twice featured in local television ads in Houston to encourage others to donate. This personal journey shapes his dedication to clients, ensuring they not only manage their finances well but also achieve peace of mind. Leo believes in taking only as much risk as necessary to provide security, focusing on strategies that allow families to live well and sleep well. For Leo, helping others is not just a profession; it is a calling grounded in gratitude and purpose.
